The two most important search phrases for kitchens in the UK

I’ve talked regularly about the fact that over the last two decades, Google has changed the game. So, I won’t rake over old ground – if you’re not getting found online, you’re missing out on countless opportunities.

I hope that you already recognise the value of Google (or ‘Search’) for your kitchen business, and you’re wondering how you can make even more of it.

If so, I’ve some valuable insight, so read on.

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been conducting extensive testing to understand how UK kitchen companies can get the very best from consumer Organic Search.

We’ve done a whole bunch of analysis on the things that people type into Google when they become interested in acquiring a new kitchen, and I’m keen to share with you the two most common things that potential kitchen buyers are searching for; these being:

1.     ‘Kitchens [your town/city]

2.     ‘Kitchen design’

There are obviously any derivatives, but month in, month out, these are the two highest volume keyword search phrases for new kitchens in the UK

So, if these key phrases aren’t already part of your Google strategy, then I suggest you rectify this. They’ve proven to be increasingly valuable for Inspire KBB clients seeking to conquer their corner of the local online search market.

How do you do it?

Well, there are two key things you need to be doing:

1.     Run Google Search Ads, targeting at least these two key phrases

High search volume generally means that these phrases are primed for Google Ads. So, get them involved in your Google Ads strategy, specifically with Search campaigns.

2.     Use these phrases in your SEO

Onsite SEO

Incorporate these phrases into your website copy (particularly the Home page and ‘About Us’ page), blog content, your technical meta titles, tags and descriptions, etc.

You don’t need to stuff your content full of them, but a consistent sprinkling will do a world of good.

Offsite SEO

Don’t stop at just your website – use the same phrases in your business profile on your Social Media pages and Online Directory listings, including Google My Business.

All of this will give you a better chance of getting found by more of the people looking for what you sell.

So, if you’re not making the most of Google, with 2020 just kicking off, then now’s an ideal time to put it right – you can hit the ground running with some simple enhancements to your local Search strategy.
